This project makes use of a long term experiment located in the IBGE Ecological Reserve (Brasília, DF) involving five different treatments in terms of soil fertilization. Changes in soil biota are being evaluated, in particular, the proportion of mycorrhizal fungi in the rhizosphere of target species. The consequences for floristic composition of plant communities, flower production, pollen and nectar quality, and pollinator visitation rates are also being evaluated. The results of this study will provide essential information to improve the effectiveness of environmental management measures in the Federal District that aim to increase ecosystem services and decrease the rate of biodiversity loss. The data obtained will also allow the optimization of agri-environmental measures, improving the sustainability of agriculture.
